Little Free Libraries
Karen Brunner. Hudson, WI. I am an academic librarian and grew up with a mom who would drop everything to take me to the library. Now my husband and I are doing our best to instill a love of books and libraries in our two young daughters. A big thank you to my dad for making me such a wonderful library!
Diane DeMeerLeer. Kent, WA. Our library was built by Orval Dealy who took on the project after I contacted the Kent Senior Center to look for someone interested in taking on a project. He built it and gave it a base paint job of purple and pale yellow. Kathi Jones, local talent, hand painted all sides and we installed it near our community park for all to enjoy!
Maria Sanchez. Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The content in our library hold the cherished books of our two daughters. One of which is an avid reader and uses the books and the stories they contain to create her imagination with. Because of our families loves of books, in giving and in sharing, we wanted to share the same with our fellow neighbours, friends and family and those who we have yet to meet!
Gloria Dougherty. Ellison Bay, WI. Our library was built by Charlie Maring, son of John and Gretchen Maring of Ellison Bay, WI. A nautical map of Northern Green Bay waters forms the walls of the library. Steward for the library are Ellison Bay neighbors Gloria Dougherty and Gretchen Maring and it is dedicated to all interested in promoting reading in our community.
Kim Waltman. Little Falls, MN. This sweet little cedar-sided Library was crafted for me by my talented brother, Jeff. The horseshoe at the top was found while we were out agate hunting together. The Scrabble tiles were my creative contribution to the project and I hope that they are found inviting. I'm so excited to further share my love of reading with my community! It is my goal to keep the library stocked with books for all ages and interests.
