Where to Find Pink Sand Beaches (and Black, and Green...)
No Caribbean island is ugly, but Harbour Island easily wins Prom Queen for the region. The impossibly pretty stretch of rose-colored sand is due to a less-than-pretty source: the remaining calcium left by teeny tiny marine animals called foraminifera. You’re lounging on the corpses of amoeba-like creatures, but wow, are they beautiful.
