Bratislava Castle freezing cold day when first visited. Had a lovely doll museum inside. I wonder where the dolls were moved to, they were lovely.
Moving clouds over the St. Martin's Cathedral
It's quite nice, that they already removed the scaffolding from the St. Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava. The tower looked quite bad in all of the cityscape shots. I went with 7 shots for this one. The tower is very white now, so the surrounding light makes it very bright, and I wanted to have detail in the whole photo. Also the long exposure of the +3EV photo captured this very nice movement in the clouds. Daily photo blog - My portfolio - My HDR tutorial - My Twitter - My facebook page
bratislava Slavín
Slavín in Bratislava is a memorial monument and cemetery for Soviet Army soldiers who fell during World War II while liberating the city of Bratislava in April 1945 from the occupying German Wehrmacht units and the remaining Slovak troops who supported the Tiso government. It is situated on a hill amidst a rich villa quarter of the capital and embassy residences close to the centre of Bratislava.
Bratislava travel
Explore Bratislava holidays and discover the best time and places to visit. | Slovakia's capital since the country's independence in 1993, Bratislava is a mosaic of illustrious history: a medieval and Gothic old town, baroque palaces commissioned by Hungarian nobles, and the crowning castle, rebuilt to Renaissance finery. Slicing through the city are stark-angled, communist-era blocks and a futurist bridge.
