The 420-square-foot loft’s original tongue-and-groove pine flooring and a new pine railing system were installed by Doug and Patty. The maple platform bed and nightstands were expertly crafted by the Custom Timber Frames’ crew. Doug says six can sleep comfortably, adding sheepishly, “Our record is 14 … you don’t want to know.” Photography by Glenn Sanderson.
